Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design at UE provides a platform for nurturing your potential and shaping your personality. As a communication designer, your role extends beyond creating visually appealing work; you will be crafting designs that effectively communicate complex ideas, influencing thoughts and actions. The emphasis is not only on aesthetics but also on conveying nuanced messages and emotions. This requires a deep understanding of content within its cultural, social, ecological, and economic contexts, with designers playing a pivotal role in driving this process. Throughout the program, you will benefit from the expertise of experienced professors and industry lecturers, utilizing our well-equipped infrastructure comprising workshops, libraries, studios, and laboratories. Access to resources such as analogue letterpress/lead typesetting, screen-printing, risograph, b/w darkroom, photo studio, print and scan lab, MacPools, and a game lab further enriches your learning experience.
It
was formed in 2017 as the University of Applied Sciences Europe by a merger of the Business and Information
Technology School and the Berliner Technische
Kunsthochschule. The university was previously owned by the
American company Laureate Education and
was acquired by Global University Systems in
2018. In October 2020, the university changed its name to University of Europe
for Applied Sciences.
The Bachelor's degree programme in Communication Design with its practice-oriented focal points trains your professional knowledge and your creative-conceptual confidence in equal measure. During the course of your studies, you will design concepts in the fields of corporate identity, advertising, cross-media campaigns, interface design, app & web design, interaction design, editorial, poster, book, logo and much more. You will learn to initiate innovative solution processes, moderate methodically and work in team structures.
