Are you seeking to advance your professional, analytical, and managerial skills? Our MSc program in Civil Engineering empowers graduates and engineers to expand their expertise and specialize in individual projects. The curriculum provides in-depth knowledge in civil engineering and a critical understanding of broad management issues relevant to engineering and construction. The program is led by a team of research-active faculty and is backed by state-of-the-art experimental facilities, including Europe's largest concrete slab testing rig, geotechnical and hydraulics laboratories, and one of the country's largest environmental chambers. Our cutting-edge laboratories offer exceptional facilities for master's level research across all civil engineering disciplines. Accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM), which includes the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Permanent Way Institution on behalf of the Engineering Council, this degree meets the academic requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Candidates must also possess a Bachelor (Hons) degree accredited as partially meeting the academic requirement for Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration to hold accredited qualifications for CEng registration.

- Research, Planning, and Communication (15 credits)

- Academic English for Postgraduates (Engineering)


Additionally, students are obligated to select 45 credits from the following options:


- Analysis and Design for Seismic Action (15 credits)

- Principles of Management for Civil Engineering (15 credits)

- Finite Element Methods in Civil Engineering (15 credits)
